Letter from Ashley Hart
To the Svitek’s,
My name is Ashley Hart and I was Kate’s co-leader this past summer in Colorado 2A. I deeply sympathize for you all in such a tragic time. Adventures Cross Country recently informed me of the devastating loss that you have faced. Through staff training and the two weeks Kate and I spent together, I grew to know her extremely well. She was a joy to be around and an excellent co-leader. Kate’s caring nature and passion for the outdoors, drew the entire group towards her. Kate made a strong impact on many of the students. Kate kept somewhat of a motherly role that everyone felt easy to open up to. She helped students overcome their fears and work to the best of their potential. Kate was a positive influence on many of the students lives. It seemed there was never a night that her and I were not laughing in our tent before we fell asleep. She was full of positive energy that spread to the rest of the group. We both went through a great deal in the short time we had on the course. She went out of her way to please others. Kate was always fair and organized in our day-to-day routines. Her love for the outdoors was evident, and her wisdom was passed on to all. Kate was an inspiration to both the students and myself. I feel extremely privileged to have had Kate as a co-leader this past summer. She left a lasting impact on me that I will never forget. Kate talked of you three quite often and her unconditioned love for you was evident. If there is anything that I can do to ease your pain, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kate was an exceptional person that will forever be in my heart. Take care and God Bless.
Deepest sympathy,
Ashley Hart
